July 12, 2020

As more companies and people move to Arizona, our job market continues to grow and expand. Our largest employers serve industries like healthcare, education, government and financial services.

According to data from the U.S Bureau of Labor and Statistics, Arizona's job growth ranked 2nd in the nation last year. Arizona added 84,400 jobs in 2019 giving us a 2.8% increase in job growth.

“Our focus will continue to be on cutting red tape and eliminating unnecessary regulations, while empowering people to get to work. My thanks to all our partners in the Legislature who have helped make Arizona competitive for people and businesses, and all the entrepreneurs and employees around the state working hard to grow our economy.” - Governor Doug Ducey

Since 2015, Arizona has added more than 350,000 new private-sector jobs. From 2015 to 2019, Arizona saw the fastest decrease in its poverty rate of any state in the U.S. — equal to approximately 175,000 Arizonans who have lifted themselves out of poverty. Job growth in 2019 was driven largely by employment gains in sectors including trade, transportation, and utilities (17,700), education and health services (20,400), and professional and business services (6,600).

I don’t just mean your regular, run of the mill, sunsets. I am talking big, rich, hot pink sunsets! They get especially beautiful during our monsoon season. There is actual science behind the fiery show. Dry conditions and upper-level clouds create ideal mix for iridescent pink, orange and purple hues. There are lots of great spots to catch the sun going down, but we wanted to share with you the go-to spots! Isabella’s Kitchen at Grayhawk – North Scottsdale This spot was built with great weather in mind. Right on Grayhawk Golf Course, Isabella’s Kitchen offers a friendly, neighborhood vibe with epic sunset views! Sip on one of their signature cocktails, while taking in the beauty that is Arizona! We recommend the Jalapeno Paloma. It’s a cocktail with a kick, that will make your visit and views that much more enjoyable. Papago Park – Tempe The Hole at Papago Park is an easy hike, with crazy good sunset views. Grab a blanket, and a basket and take the trek! Sit in the beautiful red rock formation, while watching the entire Valley, glow pink! Elements at Sanctuary – Paradise Valley Elements is the fine-dining establishment at Sanctuary Resort and Spa. Over half of the entire restaurant is open with glass windows. It is built at the base of Camelback Mountain and captures the sunset perfectly. The entire restaurant glows. We believe it is one the most romantic places in Arizona. Get a bottle of champagne and ask to be seated on the patio, for optimum views! Tempe Town Lake – Tempe Tempe town lake peers perfectly between Tempe’s multiple bridges. The sunset view from the middle of the lake is simply breathtaking. We highly recommend renting a kayak or paddle board about 30min, prior to sunset, and picking a sport right in the center of the lake. Watching the water change colors is pretty amazing. Dobbins Lookout at South Mountain- Phoenix The easy and beautiful drive up to Dobbins Lookout is a must! Upon arrival you’re greeted by a large brick structure, perfect for sitting on, and getting perfect views of The Valley, below. The sunsets are especially beautiful up here because the whole city lights up! Honestly, you can watch a sunset from anywhere in Arizona, and still witness one of the most beautiful views you have ever seen. However, we know that visiting these places will allow you to experience a true, proper Arizona Sunset.

If you are local to Arizona, then you may have an idea of what perks I am talking about. Between continuously great weather, endless local hot spots to enjoy, and the infinity of outdoor activity, it can feel like we are on vacation 24/7. However, when an Arizonian really wants to feel like they are on vacation, they typically do one thing, and one thing only: Staycation in style! We know it can be so hard to choose! That is why we narrowed down some of our favorite staycation destinations, here in The Valley, to help you better limit your search for the perfect experience. Sanctuary Resort and Spa – Paradise Valley, Arizona Sanctuary is one of the more exclusive luxury resorts in Arizona. The property is overgrown with greenery, surrounded by modern architecture, and the panoramic view of Camelback Mountain has to be seen, in order to believe. They are primarily known for their incredible fine dining establishment, Elements. The Asian fusion cuisine is one of the top rated in Phoenix. The Scott Resort and Spa – Old Town Scottsdale The Scott Resort is like stepping back in time, and on to the set of the Blue Hawaii, circa 1961. As soon as you step in, you’re greeted by some stunning architecture, and their (very popular) hotel bar The Canal Club. They are closed until July 1st, for some remodeling, but we cannot wait to see what they have done! Mountain Shadows Resort – Paradise Valley Mountain Shadows made the list, despite them not having a spa. It was an easy choice considering they offer a luxury that is hard to come by! They offer FREE lodging for your pets! Yes, they are pet friendly, and even bring up a bed, food/water bowls, and treats, upon getting settled! They also have one of the coolest aesthetics of any resort in town. Mid-century vibes, all day! Omni Resort and Spa at Monte Lucia – Paradise Valley Omni is one of most popular resort destinations in The Valley. It is easy to understand why, when their spa is at the top of our list! The Joya Spa easily has the best amenities of any spa in Phoenix. Between the Himalayan Salt Room, Cold Plunge, and adult pool with service; you feel like the best version of yourself, upon leaving! Arizona Grand Resort and Spa - Phoenix Arizona Grand is going to be the go-to family friendly destination! Their water park is one of the most popular in Phoenix! It is a HUGE property with multiple pools, sitting areas, and one of the most visited golf courses in town. This resort truly has it all for everyone in the family. Hotel Valley Ho – Old Town Scottsdale Mid 1960’s mid-century modern décor, giant milkshakes, and primo location are just a few of our favorite things, when it comes to the V-Ho! This staycation hotspot is the perfect spot for my Old Town lovers. Close to all of the best night-life, this is a great spot to celebrate a special occasion, like a Birthday, or Bachelor Party! Great Wolf Lodge- Scottsdale The Great Wolf Lodge is one of the newest resorts on the block. This place is huge, and is most known for its epic indoor waterpark! This is a spot with your little ones in mind. We are talking about an arcade, rock climbing, mini golf, and even themed suites! Yes, your kids will go nuts for Great Wolf! We haven’t even scratched the surface, when it comes to resorts, here, in The Valley. There are so many more viable options, when it comes to enjoying the perfect staycation. We will be featuring more resort information and features, so stay tuned! **All resorts have implemented changes, to adhere to CDC and Arizona guidelines, for COVID-19**
